Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility varies by designation and is based on educational qualifications and relevant work experience.

• Project Scientist-III: Doctoral Degree with 7 years’ experience OR Master’s in Engineering/Technology with 7 years’ experience. Desirable: Freshwater ecology, Ganges river dolphin research.
• Project Scientist-II: Doctoral Degree with 3 years’ experience OR Master’s in Engineering/Technology with 3 years’ experience. Desirable: Freshwater ecology/ecotoxicology and related instrumentation.
• Principal Project Associate: Bachelor’s/Master’s/Doctoral degree in relevant sciences/engineering with 4-8 years’ experience. Desirable: Dolphin habitat surveys, DNA techniques, GIS and modelling, publications.
• Senior Project Associate: Bachelor’s/Master’s/Doctoral degree with 2-4 years’ experience. Desirable: GIS/RS, genetics, molecular biology, project management.
• Project Associate – II: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree with 2 years’ experience. Desirable: GIS, genetics, dolphin ecology research.
• Project Associate – I: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in relevant subjects. Desirable: Dolphin surveys, ecology, genetics, GIS/RS.
• Project Assistant: Bachelor’s degree or 3-year Diploma. Desirable: Freshwater field surveys.

Age Limit & Relaxations

• Project Scientist-III & II: Up to 55 years
• Principal/Senior Project Associate, Project Associates, Project Assistant: Up to 50 years
• Relaxations: SC/ST – 5 years; OBC – 3 years, as per Government of India rules.

Application Process

1. Fill the prescribed Application Form (Annexure-I) with signature (no digital signature allowed).
2. Attach all required self-attested documents, photograph, and copy of fee receipt.
3. Send application by Indian Post/Courier to:
   The Nodal Officer, Research Recruitment & Placement Cell, Wildlife Institute of India, Chandrabani, Dehradun – 248001 (Uttarakhand).
4. Envelope must clearly mention Advertisement No., Project Name, Serial No. & Position applied for.
5. A candidate can apply for a maximum of two positions with separate forms and fees.
6. Attach NOC if currently working with WII projects or pursuing Ph.D.

Selection Process

Selection is based on shortlisting, followed by an online interview for shortlisted candidates.

• Shortlisting based on qualification, marks, specialization, research experience, publications.
• Top 10 candidates per post will be invited for interview.
• Marks distribution varies by category: Bachelor’s/Master’s percentage, specialization relevance, NET, experience, publications.
• Original documents must be shown at the time of joining.
• Any misrepresentation will lead to disqualification.

• Positions are purely temporary/contractual and will end with the project.
• Candidates not found suitable may be considered for lower grade positions.
• Joining must be immediate after selection.
