Eligibility Criteria

• Essential Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science OR M.Tech/M.E. in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Hydrological Engineering, Earth Sciences, Environmental Science, Geoinformatics, Geomatics, Geography, Geophysics, or related disciplines.
• Selection Basis: Through CSIR-UGC NET/SET (including Lectureship and GATE) OR national-level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments/Agencies such as DST, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER etc.
• Desirable: Prior project-related experience, strong research background, and record of scientific publications.

Age Limit

Maximum age limit is 30 years as on the date of interview.

• Relaxation of up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/Women/Physically Handicapped candidates (as per Govt. of India rules).
• Additional relaxation may be considered for experienced/qualified candidates based on selection committee recommendations.

Application Process

Candidates must directly attend the Walk-in Interview on the scheduled date, time, and venue.

1. Bring complete bio-data in the prescribed format.
2. Carry passport-size photograph and original proof of qualification and experience.
3. Submit self-attested copies of all certificates.
4. Report at WHRC Jammu one hour before the interview time.

General Conditions

• The appointment is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
• Selected candidates will be engaged for a fixed period and cannot claim regularization in NIH.
• The appointment is on a full-time basis; candidates cannot take up other assignments.
• No allowances such as DA, transport, personal staff, or residential telephone will be provided.
• Transit accommodation may be provided on a chargeable basis as per institute rules.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. However, selected candidates may be allowed TA/DA for official travel within India during the project.
• Boarding and lodging arrangements at Roorkee are to be made by candidates themselves.
• Number of posts may increase or decrease depending on project requirements.

Selection Process

The selection will be made through a Walk-in Interview. No written test will be conducted.
