Official Notes Regarding Divyangjan (PwD) Identification:
- In accordance with Government Order No. 48/XVII-A-3/2023-01(11)/vi.ka./2017 dated 05.06.2023, issued by the Social Welfare Section-3 of the Government of Uttarakhand, the post is identified for the following sub-categories of disability: OA (One Arm), OL (One Leg), LV/PB (Low Vision / Partially Blind), HH/PD (Hard of Hearing / Partially Deaf), DW (Dwarfism), and AAV/AV (Acid Attack Victim). Candidates belonging to these identified sub-categories can apply against Unreserved vacancies through open competition. Candidates belonging to other disability sub-categories are not eligible.
- In accordance with Government Letter No. 949/XV-1/2025-96554 dated 21 April 2026, if suitable candidates from the specified sub-categories (LV/PB, HH/PD) are not available in the current selection, the posts may be filled interchangeably among OA, OL, DW, and AAV/AV candidates based on the highest merit marks.
Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualifications
Essential Educational Qualifications (Mandatory)
- A degree in Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) from a university established by law in India and recognized by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI), or an equivalent degree recognized by the Government or any other veterinary qualification defined under Section 2(c) of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 (Act No. 52 of 1984), as amended from time to time.
- Must be duly registered with the Uttarakhand Veterinary Council (Uttarakhand Pashu Chikitsa Parishad).
Equivalent Qualifications Recognized Under Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984
In reference to Uttarakhand Government Letter No. 949/XV-1/2025-96554 dated 21 April 2026, the following degrees/qualifications are recognized as equivalent to B.V.Sc. & A.H.:

Preferential Qualifications (Adhimani Arhata)
Other things being equal, preference in direct recruitment will be given to a candidate who has:
- Served in the Territorial Army for a minimum period of two years; OR
- Obtained a 'B' or 'C' certificate of the National Cadet Corps (NCC); OR
- Obtained a Postgraduate Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in any branch of Veterinary Science.
Selection Process & Rules Governing Conduct
Mode of Selection
- Selection of candidates will be made based on the merit list prepared strictly according to the marks obtained in the Written Examination (Objective Type).
- Shortlisted candidates will be subject to document verification and prescribed medical examination prior to final appointment.
Important Statutory Directive: Prevention of Unfair Means
In accordance with Notification No. 168/XXXVI(3)/2023/10(01)/2023 dated 27 April 2023 issued by the Government of Uttarakhand, the Uttarakhand Competitive Examination (Measures for Prevention and Redressal of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Act, 2023 is applicable to this examination. Any candidate found indulging in unfair means, impersonation, or misconduct will be liable to stringent penal action under the provisions of the said Act, as amended from time to time, including debarment and criminal prosecution.

- Eligible candidates must apply only through the online mode via the official UKPSC recruitment portal. Offline applications will not be entertained.
- Candidates must verify all details before submitting the online application. An edit/correction window will be opened from 22 September 2026 to 01 October 2026 (11:59:59 PM) to rectify permissible particulars.
- Application fee submission must be completed online using Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI Payment methods on or before the closing deadline.
- Candidates claiming reservation must possess valid category certificates issued by the competent authority of Uttarakhand as on the crucial date.
- Candidates must ensure their registration with the Uttarakhand Veterinary Council is valid and up to date.
