Applicants will be trained as Act Apprentices in multiple trades across various units and workshops. The trades include:

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Matriculation (10th class) under 10+2 examination system with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
• ITI Certificate in the relevant trade issued by NCVT or SCVT.

Medical Fitness

Candidates must meet minimum physical fitness standards prescribed under the Apprentices Act, certified by a Railway Medical Doctor according to Annexure-II.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 15 years (as on 01/01/2026)
• Maximum Age: 24 years (as on 01/01/2026)

Age Relaxation

• SC/ST: 5 years
• OBC: 3 years
• Persons with Disabilities: 10 years
• Ex-Servicemen: Additional 10 years (as per rules)

Reservation Details

Reservations are provided as per Government of India rules for SC, ST, OBC, PWD, and Ex-Servicemen (ESM). Important points include:

• PWD and ESM categories are allotted 3% of total slots.
• Unfilled OBC vacancies may be filled by UR candidates.
• Unfilled SC vacancies may be filled by ST candidates and vice versa.
• Children of deceased/disabled ESM, serving jawans, serving officers are eligible for reservation benefits.

Application Fees

• Application Fee: ₹100 (non-refundable)
• Fee Exempted For: SC, ST, PWD, Women Candidates
• Payment is accepted through Debit Card, Credit Card, Internet Banking, UPI, and e-Wallets.

Selection Process

1. Merit list prepared based on percentage of marks obtained in Matriculation (10th class).
2. In case of tie, older candidate is preferred; if same DOB, earlier matric pass-out is preferred.
3. Shortlisted candidates (1.5 times vacancies) will be called for Document Verification.
4. Final merit list prepared trade-wise and community-wise.
5. Candidates must pass a medical examination.
6. Stipend will be provided at prescribed rates.

Application Process

1. Candidates must apply online through the official RRC/SER website.
2. Candidates must ensure that their name, date of birth, and other details match their matriculation certificate.
3. Candidates must upload required certificates, photograph, and signature as per instructions.
4. Three preferences for training locations must be selected carefully.
5. Mobile number and email ID should remain active throughout the process.
6. Candidates should take a printout of the submitted application for document verification.
7. Incomplete applications may be rejected by RRC/SER.

Other Important Instructions

• Training under Apprentices Act does not guarantee employment in Railways.
• 20% of future Group D vacancies (Grade Pay ₹1800) may be filled by Act Apprentices trained in Railway establishments.
• Candidates must ensure eligibility; false information may lead to cancellation.
• Railways will not communicate with candidates who are not shortlisted.
• Beware of touts or agencies promising guaranteed selection.
