Eligibility Criteria

• Essential Qualification: First class M.Sc. in Zoology / Botany / Environmental Sciences / Ecology / any related discipline of Life Sciences.
• Desirable Qualification: Research experience in Ecology field surveys and laboratory experiments, having Ph.D. in related discipline.

Age Limit

• Maximum Age: Should not exceed 35 years as on 05 September 2025.
• Relaxation: Usual relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Women/Differently-abled candidates as per Government of India rules. Age may also be relaxed for exceptionally bright candidates with relevant experience.

1. Eligible and interested candidates are requested to apply by sending a covering letter to the email pnc_bsd@isical.ac.in, mentioning subject as “Application for PLP at AERU”, addressed to the Professor-in-Charge, Biological Sciences Division, Indian Statistical Institute.
2. The covering letter must include the project name along with the current signed resume (CV) of the candidate in English.
3. The CV must contain details such as: Name (In block letters), Permanent/Present Address, Email Address, Telephone/Mobile Number, Parent’s/Spouse’s Name, Date of Birth, Academic Qualifications (with percentage of marks obtained in each examination starting from 10th class), Experience and Publications (if any), Identity Proof (Voter Card/PAN Card etc.), SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled status.
4. All documents/testimonials must be self-attested scanned copies attached with the application.
5. At the time of joining, selected candidates must produce original documents/testimonials for verification and a medical fitness certificate from the Medical Officer of the Institute. Failure to produce these will result in cancellation of the offer and the position will be offered to the next candidate in the merit list.

Selection Process

• Screening of applications.
• Written test in the subject area may be held, if required, to shortlist candidates for interview depending upon the number of applicants.
• Interview for shortlisted candidates (details will be communicated to candidates via email).
• Verification of original documents at the time of interview/joining.
• No TA/DA will be paid either for attending the interview or joining the post.

Other Important Information

• The post is purely contractual and filled on a temporary basis. The candidate will have no right to claim permanent employment under ISI Kolkata or continuation of his/her services in any other project.
• The Institute does not have residential facilities for contractual staff.
• CVs with incomplete information or without supporting documents will be summarily rejected.
• Mere fulfillment of essential qualifications/experience does not guarantee selection.
• The Institute reserves the right not to appoint any candidate for the post.
