Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must fulfill one of the following educational qualifications and experience combinations:

1. Option A: Master’s Degree in Economics / Commerce / Statistics / Business Studies / Public Administration from a recognized University/Institute with one year of experience in handling stores and keeping accounts in Government / Statutory / Autonomous / PSU / University / Bank / or listed private organizations.
2. Option B: Bachelor’s Degree in Economics / Commerce / Statistics / Business Studies / Public Administration OR Diploma in Material Management / Warehousing Management / Purchasing / Logistics / Public Procurement from a recognized University/Institute with two years of similar experience.

Age Limit

• Maximum Age: 30 years as on 20 January 2026.
• Age Relaxation:
  • SC Candidates: Up to 5 years (for reserved SC post).
  • Government Servants: Up to 5 years as per Central Government rules.

Application Process

Applications must be submitted offline by ordinary post only. Candidates must fill the application form as per Annexure-I in English or Hindi and affix a self-attested recent colour photograph. The application should be sent with self-attested copies of the following documents:

• Aadhaar Card
• Matriculation certificate and mark sheet
• Educational qualification certificates (Degree/Diploma)
• Experience certificates
• Category certificate (SC/EWS as applicable)
• No Objection Certificate (if employed in Govt. service)
• Two passport-size photographs
• One self-addressed envelope with ₹50 postal stamp affixed

Address to send application:

Envelope should be clearly superscribed with “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF FOREMAN OF STORES” and mention the category (EWS/SC). Applications received after due date or incomplete in any form will be summarily rejected.

Selection Process

1. Shortlisting of applications based on eligibility.
2. Document verification of shortlisted candidates.
3. Written Examination (Bilingual – English & Hindi)
   • Total Questions: 80 Objective Type
   • Marks: 1 mark per question, no negative marking
   • Duration: 1 hour
   • Subjects:
     • Mathematics (Arithmetic) – 15 Questions
     • Mental Ability/Reasoning – 15 Questions
     • General Awareness – 15 Questions
     • English – 15 Questions
     • Post-related Questions – 20 Questions
   • Qualifying Marks: 40 (EWS), 36 (SC)
   • Exam Centres: Kolkata and Port Blair (to be chosen by candidate)
4. Final merit list will be based purely on written exam performance and published on the Indian Coast Guard website.

Reservation & Relaxation

• SC candidates: 5 years age relaxation and entitled to 2nd class rail/bus fare reimbursement to exam centre (as per rules).
• EWS candidates: Must provide valid Income & Asset Certificate as per Government format for the current financial year.

Other Important Instructions

• Applications without proper documentation, photographs, or category certificate will be rejected.
• Applications sent by hand or courier will not be accepted.
• Any false information may lead to disqualification or termination of service at any stage.
• Government employees must apply through proper channel along with NOC.
