Application Process
- Applications must be submitted in the prescribed standard form.
- Candidates can submit applications by hand or by post.
- Applications should be submitted to respective District Home Guards Offices, District Training Centres, or Civil Defence Offices.
- All applications must be accompanied by self-attested copies of required documents.
- Incomplete applications or applications without required certificates will be rejected.
- Applications received after the last date will not be considered under any circumstances.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be an Indian citizen.
- Applicant must be domiciled in the State of Meghalaya.
- Applicant must have served as a Home Guard Volunteer for a total period of 5 years (1825 days).

- Two copies of recent passport-size photographs (one pasted in form).
- Educational Qualification Certificate.
- Birth Certificate or Age Certificate.
- EPIC Card of Meghalaya.
- Home Guards Basic Training Certificate.
- Medical Fitness Certificate from authorized government medical practitioner/institution.
- Deployment Period Certificate issued by competent authority.

State Reservation Policy / Roster is not applicable as the recruitment is purely voluntary in nature.

Selection Process
- Personal Interview of eligible Home Guards Volunteers.
- Document Verification during the interview.
Interviews will be conducted at Shillong and Tura centers. No separate call letter will be issued. Candidates must check departmental notice boards and official website regularly.
Job Nature and Deployment
- Deployment is purely temporary and voluntary.
- Initial deployment period is 1 year, extendable based on performance.
- No claim for regularization or permanent retention.
- Volunteers can be dismissed or terminated at any time without assigning reasons.
- Selected candidates may be deployed in remote border areas of Khasi, Jaintia & Garo Hills bordering Bangladesh.
Important Instructions
- Department will not be responsible for any damage or injury during the enrollment process.
- Candidates must arrange their own accommodation for 2–3 days during the interview.
- No TA/DA will be provided for journey or stay.
- Candidates must bring original documents for verification.
- Any form of canvassing or bribery will lead to disqualification and legal action.
- Department reserves the right to cancel enrollment wholly or partially without assigning reasons.
