Eligibility Criteria

• Applications are invited from senior faculty members of National Institute of Technology Meghalaya.
• Candidates should possess a proven administrative, teaching, and research background.
• Candidates should have significant experience in research guidance at the Ph.D. level.
• Candidates must possess leadership qualities.
• Applicants must have a minimum of five years of experience as Professor.
• Candidates should have served for at least two years as Head of Department (HoD) or Dean.
• Candidates should have sufficient contributions in academics, administration, and outreach activities.
• The candidate should be an eminent person in the relevant field of specialization.
• Candidates should possess an outstanding academic record throughout their career.
• All other eligibility conditions shall be governed by the National Institutes of Technology Act and Statutes.

The age limit, qualifications, and experience requirements shall be determined as on the last date of submission of the application form.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Deputy Director

• The Deputy Director shall assist the Director in academic and administrative work.
• The Deputy Director shall maintain liaison with institutions of higher learning and research.
• The Deputy Director shall maintain liaison with industrial undertakings and other employers.
• During a vacancy in the post of Director, the Deputy Director shall exercise all powers of the Director of the Institute.
• The Deputy Director shall be governed by the terms and conditions of the Contract of Service specified in Schedule-B.

Selection Process

1. Scrutiny of applications received by the institute.
2. Shortlisting of eligible candidates.
3. Interview of shortlisted candidates.
4. Recommendation by the Selection Committee constituted under Statute 23(5)(a) of the National Institutes of Technology Statutes.
5. Final approval by the competent authority and the Board.

3. The application form is available on the official website from 07 July 2026.
4. The duly filled application form must be accompanied by self-attested copies of certificates, testimonials, and all supporting documents.
5. Applications must be submitted through Registered Post, Speed Post, or by hand.
6. Applications received through any other mode will not be considered.

Salary and Service Conditions

• The salary amount has not been specified in the notification.
• The terms and conditions of service shall be governed by the National Institutes of Technology Act, Statutes, and Ordinances.
• The Deputy Director shall be governed by the Contract of Service entered into between the Institute and the appointee.
• The appointment shall be made in accordance with the provisions of the NITSER Act, 2007 and the statutes framed thereunder.
