Salary / Honorarium
Employment Type
The engagement shall be on a purely temporary basis for a period of one semester / six months. The services of Guest Faculty will be terminated without notice if found unsatisfactory. Under no circumstances can the candidate claim a permanent position.
Eligibility Criteria
- Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in Sanskrit from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a recognized foreign University.
- Must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC/CSIR or similar accredited tests.
- Candidates awarded a Ph.D. in Sanskrit (in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009/2016 and amendments) are exempted from NET.
- The qualification for Guest Faculty shall be at par with the minimum qualification for Assistant Professors in Universities as per UGC Regulations, 2018.
Age Limit
Superannuated teachers may also be considered for engagement subject to a maximum age limit of 70 years.
Reservation Details
Reservation is applicable for categories SC, ST, OBC, PWD, EWS, and UR. Candidates must enclose self-attested copies of valid caste/disability certificates issued by a competent authority.

- Candidates must attend the Walk-in Interview on 10-09-2025 at 11:00 AM in the Department of Tamil, Central University of Tamil Nadu.
- Duly filled and signed Application Form along with all self-attested copies of testimonials should be submitted at the time of interview.
- Application form must be preferably typed or neatly handwritten.
Selection Process
Selection will be made based on a Walk-in Interview. Engagement is temporary, and services can be terminated without notice if unsatisfactory. No right for permanent appointment will be entertained.

- The number of vacancies indicated is tentative. The University reserves the right to fill consequential vacancies or increase/decrease positions as needed.
- Incomplete applications will be rejected.
- Canvassing in any form or bringing influence will result in disqualification.
- Guest faculty will not be entitled to allowances, pension, gratuity, or leave benefits applicable to regular teachers.
