Eligibility Criteria (As per UGC & State Norms)
Applications / Curriculum Vitae are invited from distinguished scholars, academicians of repute, and visionary institutional leaders possessing the highest level of competence, integrity, morals, and institutional commitment in the field of AYUSH education. Candidates must fulfill all the following mandatory qualifications and experience standards prescribed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Uttarakhand Ayurved University Act, 2009:
1. Academic Record
A distinguished academic record with a Ph.D. / P.G. degree in any subject in AYUSH or related disciplines/sciences from a recognized University or Institution.
2. Professorial Experience
A minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a Professor in any stream of AYUSH in a University system (for candidates applying from a teaching background);
OR (not to be mixed with or/and) equivalent experience in a reputed research and/or academic administrative organization (for candidates applying from a research organization or academic administration background), with proof of having demonstrated academic leadership.
3. Publications & Research
High-quality research publications in peer-reviewed / indexed journals (UGC-CARE listed), books authored, and a proven track record of successful guidance of Ph.D. scholars.
4. Administrative Leadership
Proven administrative acumen and leadership experience in senior academic management roles (such as Dean, Director, Registrar, Head of Department [HOD], or Syndicate/Senate member) with a demonstrated track record of institutional development, financial management, and fostering academic excellence.
Age Limit & Mandatory Disclosures / Integrity Conditions
Age Limit
The maximum age of the applicant at the time of recommendation by the Search Committee shall not exceed 65 years (as prescribed under the Uttarakhand Ayurved University Act / UGC Regulations).
Mandatory Disclosures and Integrity Standards
- No vigilance inquiry, departmental inquiry, or legal proceedings shall be pending against the applicant at the time of submission of the application and during the entire selection process.
- No case or legal proceeding shall have been instituted against the applicant before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India or any Hon’ble High Court.
- The applicant must disclose all relevant litigation, if any exists, explicitly in the prescribed application form.

Applicants must adhere to the following procedural steps for submitting their application:
- Download Application Proforma: The application form along with detailed terms of appointment, eligibility criteria, and prescribed proforma can be downloaded directly from the official university website: https://ayurved.uk.gov.in.
- Fill Application Form: Fill out the prescribed proforma completely and accurately, providing full curriculum vitae, academic credentials, research details, professorial experience, and administrative track record.
- Enclose Self-Attested Documents: Attach self-attested copies of testimonials, age proof, experience certificates, research output/publications details, and all required annexures and supporting documents.
- Mode of Dispatch: The duly completed application form along with all enclosures must be forwarded solely by Registered Post or Speed Post.

Selection Process
The appointment to the post of Vice-Chancellor, Uttarakhand Ayurved University, Dehradun, will be carried out by the Search and Selection Committee constituted as per the provisions of the Uttarakhand Ayurved University Act, 2009 and University Grants Commission (UGC) Regulations. The committee will evaluate applications, curriculum vitae, credentials, publications, professorial standing, and leadership records of applicants for final recommendation.
