Eligibility Criteria for UTET-I (Primary Teacher Level: Class 1 to 5)

Candidates applying for UTET-I must fulfill any one of the following educational qualifications:

• Higher Secondary (12th) or equivalent with minimum 50% marks and two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed/BTC).
• Higher Secondary (12th) or equivalent with minimum 45% marks and two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed/BTC) obtained according to National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) regulations.
• Higher Secondary (12th) or equivalent with minimum 50% marks and four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
• Higher Secondary (12th) or equivalent with minimum 50% marks and two-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) recognized by Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
• Graduation or equivalent with two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed/BTC).

Additional Eligible Candidates

• Shiksha Mitras working on honorarium in government primary schools who have completed two-year D.El.Ed training from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) after approval of the State Government.
• Regularly appointed Assistant Teachers/Head Teachers (Primary) and Assistant Teachers/Head Teachers (Upper Primary) working in all types of schools having DISE code.

Eligibility Criteria for UTET-II (Upper Primary Teacher Level: Class 6 to 8)

Candidates applying for UTET-II must fulfill any one of the following educational qualifications prescribed by the Uttarakhand Teacher Eligibility Test 2026 Information Brochure.

• Graduation or equivalent and two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (BTC/D.El.Ed) passed.
• Graduation or equivalent with minimum 50% marks and one-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), LT, or Education Shastri (institutional) passed.
• Graduation or equivalent with minimum 45% marks and one-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), LT, or Education Shastri (institutional) obtained according to the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) regulations issued from time to time.
• Higher Secondary (12th) or equivalent with minimum 50% marks and four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
• Higher Secondary (12th) or equivalent with minimum 50% marks and four-year BA/B.Sc.Ed or BA.Ed/B.Sc.Ed qualification.
• Graduation or equivalent with minimum 50% marks and B.Ed (Special Education) recognized by Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
• Graduation or Post Graduation with minimum 50% marks and B.Ed qualification.

Additional Eligible Candidates for UTET-II

• Regularly appointed teachers working as Assistant Teacher, Head Teacher, and Assistant Teacher (LT) in all types of schools having DISE code for teaching classes 6 to 8.
