Application Process
Candidates must apply online only through the UPSC ORA website. No offline applications will be accepted.
Eligibility Criteria
- Legal Posts: Degree in Law and required judicial/administrative/legal experience (7–13 years depending on post).
- Lecturer (Urdu): Post Graduation in Urdu with B.Ed.
- Medical Officer: Recognized MBBS degree qualification (as per NMC Act, 2019).
- Accounts Officer: Bachelor’s Degree.
- Assistant Director: Master’s in Social Sciences (Social Work, Sociology, Economics, Anthropology, Psychology, etc.) with minimum 3 years research/survey experience.

Age Relaxations: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and 10 years for PwBD candidates as per UPSC rules.
Reservation Details
Reservations are applicable as per Government of India rules for categories UR, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwBD, and ALC (for Ladakh-specific posts).
The posts are identified as suitable for various PwBD categories including Blindness/Low Vision, Deaf/Hard of Hearing, Locomotor Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, Mental Illness, and Multiple Disabilities.
For Ladakh recruitments, the Jammu & Kashmir Reservation Act, 2004 (as extended) and Union Territory of Ladakh Reservation Rules, 2025 apply.
Application Fees
Application fee details are mentioned in the official notification. Generally, UPSC charges fees only from General/OBC/EWS category candidates while SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates are exempted.
Selection Process
- Shortlisting through Recruitment Test (if required).
- Final stage: Interview/Personality Test conducted by UPSC.
- In case of Recruitment Test, weightage of marks is 75% for test and 25% for interview.
Other Important Information
- Domicile Requirement: For posts in UT of Ladakh, candidates must have a valid domicile certificate issued by competent authority.
- Probation: Selected candidates will be on probation as per rules.
- Service Liability: All candidates are liable to serve anywhere in India.
- Cancellation Notice: Some earlier advertised vacancies (ASI & Horticulture) have been cancelled due to administrative reasons.
