Training locations include various substations and offices across Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand under NR-I. Apprentices may be assigned any training location within the state based on availability of facilities and requirements.

Apprenticeship Trades and Designations

Base Salary / Monthly Stipend

Additional Allowance: An additional ₹ 2,500 shall be paid if company accommodation is not provided or availed.

Employment Type

The engagement is purely on Apprenticeship Training basis under the Apprentices Act, 1961, for a duration of one year. There is no provision of regular employment after the completion of apprenticeship training.

Application Process

1. Candidates should first register themselves as a student/candidate on:
   • NAPS: https://apprenticeshipindia.gov.in (for HR Executive, CSR Executive, Business Development Executive, Law Executive, PR Assistant, Rajbhasha Assistant, Library Professional Assistant, ITI Electrician)
   • NATS: https://nats.education.gov.in (for Degree/Diploma in Engineering trades)
2. After obtaining NAPS/NATS registration/enrolment number, candidates should apply on the POWERGRID website:
   • Visit www.powergrid.in → Careers → Engagement of Apprentices → Apply Online.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must possess full-time regular degree, diploma, or ITI qualifications in their respective trades from a recognized institute or university.
• Candidates who have passed their final examination within two years from the closing date of the application (i.e., between 07.10.2023 and 06.10.2025) are eligible.
• The date of result declaration must be clearly mentioned in the mark sheet; if not, a supporting certificate from the college or university must be submitted.
• The percentage of marks in the final degree/diploma examination should be mentioned in the final/consolidated mark sheet; otherwise, a conversion certificate from the institute is required.
• Specialization or major discipline (if applicable) must be mentioned in the degree/diploma certificate; otherwise, a supporting letter from the college is necessary.
• Candidates awaiting final examination results are not eligible to apply.
• Candidates who have undergone or are undergoing apprenticeship training in any organization for any duration are not eligible.
• Candidates having job experience of more than one year are not eligible.
• Candidates must be Indian citizens and medically fit as per the Apprentice Act, 1961.
• Part-time, correspondence, distance education, or online qualifications are not accepted.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 years as on the closing date of the application.
• Upper Age Limit: Not specified in the notification (as per Apprentices Act norms).

Reservation Details

The reservation is applicable as per the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rule 1992 (as amended). The distribution of training slots across various categories is provisional and may vary as per the company’s requirement and government norms.

Application Fees

There is no application fee for this apprenticeship engagement. Candidates are not required to pay any charges while submitting the online application form.

Selection Process

• Applications will be screened in merit order based on eligibility criteria and prescribed qualification applicable to each trade.
• Incomplete or ineligible applications will be summarily rejected without intimation.
• Shortlisting will be done in a ratio of 1:5 with respect to the number of training slots notified.
• Shortlisted candidates will be called for verification of documents/certificates through registered email only.
• No TA/DA shall be paid for appearing for document verification.
• Final merit list will be prepared based on the candidates found eligible after verification.
• Engagement will be done after acceptance of the tripartite apprenticeship contract on the NATS/NAPS portal, submission of medical certificate, and police verification.
• No written test or interview will be conducted.

Apprenticeship Training Terms and Conditions

• The total tenure of apprenticeship training shall be one year from the date of joining.
• Apprenticeship training shall co-terminate with completion of one-year duration; no extension will be granted.
• Training location may be changed as part of job rotation or training requirement during apprenticeship.
• Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend subject to satisfactory performance and attendance.
• Poor performance or unauthorized absence may result in termination from the apprenticeship program.
• Apprentices are not allowed to enroll or undergo any regular course or job during the apprenticeship period.
• Apprentices are required to maintain a weekly work diary and submit it to the assigned reporting officer; the same should also be recorded on the apprenticeship portal.
• Apprentices must maintain confidentiality of all proprietary information of POWERGRID and adhere to the company’s code of conduct and policies.
• Violation of conduct may result in disciplinary action, including termination.
• Any intellectual property (inventions, discoveries, or works) created during apprenticeship shall be the property of POWERGRID.
• POWERGRID reserves the right to terminate apprenticeship at any time for absenteeism, indiscipline, misconduct, or poor performance.
• POWERGRID will not entertain any claims for injury, accident, theft, natural calamity, or loss during training.
• Management reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Applicants will be notified via email or official communication channels.
• By applying for apprenticeship, candidates agree to abide by all stated terms and conditions.

Bank and DBT Registration Requirement

• Candidates should have an active Aadhaar-seeded bank account enabled for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) as per Government of India norms.
• The same bank details must be provided in the online application form.
• Name and Date of Birth of the applicant should match in Matriculation Certificate, Aadhaar Card, and Bank Account.

Documents Required

• Apprenticeship Registration/Enrolment Number under NATS/NAPS and 100% completed/updated profile in the portal.
• Scanned copies of educational certificates and mark sheets (clearly visible/readable).
• Proof of age (Matriculation Certificate, Aadhaar Card, Passport, etc.).
• SC/ST/OBC(NCL) caste certificate as per Government of India format (if applicable).
• Bank cancelled cheque/first page of passbook (DBT enabled account details).
• Recent color passport-sized photograph and signature.

General Instructions

• Applicants must be Indian citizens and 18 years or older at the time of application.
• Incomplete applications or those without valid documents will be rejected without intimation.
• Candidates should apply for only one region/state of their choice; multiple applications will be rejected.
• If a candidate is found ineligible or provides false information, they will be disqualified at any stage.
• Completion or undergoing apprenticeship does not guarantee employment with POWERGRID.
