Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or Institute. The degree or provisional degree certificate must clearly indicate that the candidate has passed the Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering on or before the last date of receipt of online applications.

GATE Requirement

Candidates must have a valid GATE 2025 score in the discipline of Civil Engineering.

Age Limit and Relaxation

Maximum Age Limit: Not exceeding 30 years as on the closing date of online application.

If a candidate is eligible for more than one age relaxation, only the highest permissible relaxation will be granted.

Reservation Details

Reservation benefits are applicable for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, and PwBD candidates as per Government of India rules. Candidates must possess valid and prescribed certificates issued by competent authorities.

OBC-NCL certificate must be issued during FY 2025–2026.
EWS certificate must be based on income of FY 2024–2025.
PwBD candidates must have at least 40% benchmark disability.
No change in category once submitted in the online application is permitted.

Selection Process

Selection will be carried out solely on the basis of GATE 2025 score in Civil Engineering. In case of large number of applicants, NHAI may adopt shortlisting criteria.

If two candidates have the same merit rank, the older candidate will be ranked higher.
If date of birth is also the same, alphabetical order of names will be used.

Service Bond

All selected candidates must execute a service bond of ₹5,00,000 at the time of joining. The bond requires a minimum service period of three years with NHAI. Failure to complete the bond period will attract recovery of the bond amount.
