Post Details

Remuneration / Salary Details

• Consolidated monthly remuneration ranging between ₹1,25,000 to ₹1,75,000.
• Remuneration for retired Government employees will be regulated as per Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure O.M. No. 3-25/2020-E.III.A dated 09 December 2020.
• Annual increment may be granted based on satisfactory performance.
• For outstanding performance, up to two-step increment may be awarded.
• Remuneration is consolidated and inclusive of all applicable taxes. No additional allowance shall be provided.

Educational Qualification

Essential Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Water Resources Management
• Master’s degree in Hydrology
• Master’s degree in Erosion (River/Coastal) Risk Management
• Master’s degree in Disaster Management
• Master’s degree in related disciplines such as Geography, Geology, Environment, Civil Engineering, or Geo-Technical Engineering

Desirable Qualifications

• Research degree (M.Phil. or Ph.D.) in Disaster Management or related field

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Erosion (River/Coastal) risk management or related subject.
• Duration of research work (PhD/Post-Doctoral) will be counted for work experience (actual duration or 5 years, whichever is less).
• Field experience in community-based approaches to Erosion (River/Coastal) risk management will be given preference.
• Field experience in projects involving disaster risk reduction and mitigation will be given higher weightage.
• Both educational qualification and work experience must establish the applicant as an expert in the relevant field.

Age Limit

• Upper age limit for general candidates: 50 years
• Upper age limit for retired Government officials: 62 years
• No extension beyond 65 years of age will be permitted under any circumstances.

Other Important Information

• The consultancy engagement is temporary in nature.
• Initial engagement and extensions together shall not exceed three years.
• Continuation beyond the first year will be subject to satisfactory annual performance review.
• No extension will be granted beyond the age of 65 years.
• NDMA may terminate the contract at any time without assigning any reason.
• In normal circumstances, one month’s notice will be provided.
• The consultant may also resign by giving one month’s notice.
• TA/DA, lodging and boarding expenses for official tours will be provided as per Government of India / NDMA rules.
• NDMA will provide office equipment such as desktop, printer, and internet during the consultancy period.
