NCPOR Recruitment 2026 – Walk-in Interview for Logistics Personnel (Antarctic Expedition 2026–2028)
The National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR), an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, has released an official notification inviting candidates for various logistics and technical positions required for the Indian Antarctic Expedition. The recruitment will be conducted through Walk-in Interviews scheduled from 28 April 2026 to 01 May 2026.
Candidates will be recruited on a contract basis for deployment at Indian Antarctic research stations for the expedition seasons 2026–2028.

Salary and Benefits

Additional Allowances and Facilities
- Free boarding and lodging on board the ship and at Antarctica.
- Special polar clothing will be provided.
- Antarctic Allowance ₹1,500 per day during summer season.
- Antarctic Allowance ₹2,000 per day during winter season.
- Antarctic allowance may be revised as per Government of India orders.
- Group Personal Accident Insurance Coverage up to ₹25,00,000.
Season Classification for Antarctic Allowance
- Winter Season: 1 March – 30 November
- Summer Season: 1 December – 28/29 February
Preparatory Reimbursement
- Short Term Contract: ₹40,000 reimbursement
- Long Term Contract: ₹60,000 reimbursement
Contract Duration
The contract period will be either 6 months or 18 months depending on the suitability of candidates as assessed by NCPOR. The contract is expected to begin from November / December 2026.

- Candidates must fill the enrollment form AL-2010 available on the official website of NCPOR.
- The completed form must be carried to the walk-in interview.
- Candidates must bring photocopies of all required documents.
- Original documents must also be presented during verification.

Selection Process

- Medical Examination at AIIMS New Delhi or Goa Medical College
- Pre-Antarctic Snow Ice Acclimatisation Training at ITBP Auli (near Joshimath, Garhwal Himalayas)
Important Instructions
- Candidates must carry original certificates for verification.
- Candidates without original certificates will not be allowed to participate in the interview.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
- Only ex-servicemen may receive reimbursement for travel and accommodation under specified limits.
- Selected candidates must sign a contract agreement with NCPOR.
- Candidates must carry their personal passport when reporting to NCPOR.
- The Director of NCPOR reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts.
- Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
