Project Details

Project Title: Development of Intelligent Crop Management System for Recognizing and Supplementing the Crop Healthiness: iCroMaS

Funding Scheme: Scheme for Transformational and Advanced Research in Sciences (STARS), under the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, coordinated at IISc Bangalore.

Project Objective: The aim of this project is to develop an AI-based crop management system that can monitor crops in real time and recommend nutrient compositions that should be precisely supplied to enhance crop health. The project funding extends up to December 2026.

Applications are invited for the following temporary project positions. Only one position will be filled, either at Junior Research Fellow or Project Associate level, depending on candidate suitability and project requirements.

Desirable Qualification: Ph.D. in related areas. Work Experience: Experience in projects involving Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence, and Deep Learning is an advantage. Note: Those selected for the JRF position will have the opportunity to register for a Ph.D.
2	Project Associate Hindi: परियोजना सहयोगी	₹30,000/- per month (Consolidated)	Qualification: First Class M.Tech or B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering / Electronics and Communication / Mechanical / Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent from a reputed institute with a minimum of 60% marks (or 6.5 CGPA). Work Experience: Experience in projects involving Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence, and Deep Learning is an advantage.

Preferred Skills and Expertise

Strong command of one or more programming languages such as C++, Java, Python, or MATLAB.
Experience in developing Computer Vision applications using libraries like OpenCV and GUI tools.
Interest in mobile application development.
Experience with AI, Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs), and Deep Learning frameworks.

Tenure of Appointment

The initial appointment is for one year and may be renewed further based on the candidate’s performance and project requirements. The position is purely temporary and project-based.

Mode of Selection

The selection process may consist of a written test, an interview, or both. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview. The interview will be conducted in hybrid mode.
