Project Overview
The selected candidate will work on a research project focusing on strong correlation, entanglement, and complexity in topological and flat band systems. The project involves advanced computational approaches using GPU-based parallel computing tools.
The research includes:
- Tensor network-based DMRG programs in two dimensions
- Exact diagonalisation and time evolution in large Hilbert spaces
- GPU-based parallel computing (GPGPU)
- Checkpointing and scheduling workflows for quantum-classical systems
Scope of Work
The Junior Research Fellow will work on solving complex physics problems using computational science techniques. The role involves:
- Solving large-scale eigenvalue problems
- Matrix reshaping and contractions on heterogeneous hardware
- Parallel algorithm design
- Memory hierarchy optimization
- GPU-accelerated computing
- Developing scalable and portable software solutions
- Designing task scheduling and memory management strategies
- Handling GPU memory bottlenecks
- Working on high-performance computing (HPC) and scientific computing
- Developing checkpointing and scheduling solutions for quantum-classical workloads
Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualification
- Graduate or Postgraduate Degree in Computer Science
- Or allied disciplines such as ECE / EEE / EIE
Desirable Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in CSE/ECE/EEE/EIE
- GATE and/or UGC-NET qualification
- Programming skills in Python, C, C++, or Java
- Knowledge of Operating Systems and Computer Networks
- Understanding of distributed systems
- Experience with CUDA parallel programming (preferred)
- Knowledge of quantum computing (desired)
