Stipend / Salary

Increment: +10% in 2nd year, +15% in 3rd year of training.
Employment Type
This engagement is purely for Apprenticeship Training under the Apprentices Act, 1961. It does not constitute employment. There is no job guarantee after completion of training. However, 20% of vacancies in Level 1 recruitment may be filled by giving preference to Course Completed Act Apprentices (CCAAs) with a National Apprenticeship Certificate.

Eligibility Criteria
Fresher Category

| Fitter, Painter, Welder | 10th Class pass with minimum 50% aggregate marks under 10+2 system or equivalent. |
| Medical Laboratory Technician (Radiology, Pathology, Cardiology) | 12th Class pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with minimum 50% aggregate marks. |
Ex-ITI Category

Note: Minimum 50% marks in 10th is not required for SC/ST/PwBD candidates. Engineering graduates, diploma holders, or vocational certificate holders are not eligible.
Age Limit (as on 25 August 2025)

- Maximum Age for Freshers: 22 years
- Maximum Age for Ex-ITI and MLT: 24 years
- OBC (NCL) Relaxation: +3 years
- SC/ST Relaxation: +5 years
- PwBD Relaxation: +10 years (UR/EWS), +13 years (OBC), +15 years (SC/ST)
Reservation Details
Reservations are applicable as per Government norms.
- SC, ST, OBC, EWS reservations are applicable.
- PwBD quota increased from 3% to 4% under the RPwD Act, 2016.
- Trade-wise suitability for PwBD candidates is defined in the notification.
- Candidates must submit valid certificates from competent authorities at the time of Document Verification.
Application Fees
Processing Fee: ₹100 (non-refundable, to be paid online).
Exempted: SC, ST, PwBD, and Women candidates.
Selection Process
Selection will be based purely on merit list without any written examination.
- Fresher: Marks obtained in 10th Class converted to 200 scale.
- Ex-ITI: Marks obtained in 10th (converted to 100) + ITI marks (converted to 100) = total 200 marks.
- MLT: Marks obtained in 12th Class (Science) converted to 200 scale.
Tie-Breaking: In case of equal marks, older candidates will be preferred. If DOB is same, earlier completion of matriculation will be considered.
Medical & Physical Fitness
Applicants must satisfy the minimum standards of physical fitness as per Schedule-II of Apprenticeship Rules 1992 (as amended). Medical certificates must be signed by Government-authorized doctors not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon in Central/State Government Hospitals.

Engagement & Contract
- Selected candidates must execute a contract of apprenticeship as per Apprentices Act, 1961.
- Minors must have their guardians sign the contract.
- Candidates cannot withdraw from training without valid reasons; otherwise, cost of training and stipend may be recovered.
- False declarations or documents will lead to immediate disqualification or termination.
- Candidates must arrange their own accommodation and facilities.
Other Important Instructions
- The decision of Railway Administration regarding eligibility, acceptance, or rejection of applications and mode of selection shall be final.
- There is no employment guarantee after apprenticeship training. However, 20% of Level-1 vacancies may be filled by Course Completed Act Apprentices (CCAAs) with NAC.
- Candidates acquiring qualifications only from recognized Boards/Institutes will be considered.
- Candidates applying for Ex-ITI category must possess ITI qualification in relevant trade at the time of application.
- Candidates who are willfully absent or whose surety is represented during engagement are liable to refund full cost of training and stipend received.
