Base Salary & Compensation
- Field Engineer: Pay band ₹30,000 – 1,20,000; Initial Basic Pay ₹30,000 + Industrial DA + HRA + Perks @ 35% of Basic Pay. Approximate CTC: ₹8.9 Lakhs per annum.
- Field Supervisor: Pay band ₹23,000 – 1,05,000; Initial Basic Pay ₹23,000 + Industrial DA + HRA + Perks @ 35% of Basic Pay. Approximate CTC: ₹6.8 Lakhs per annum.
Other Benefits include HRA, EPF & EPS, Gratuity, Medical Benefits (self and family), Group Personal Accident Insurance, leave entitlement (Casual, Sick, Earned Leave), reimbursement of mobile charges, and annual increments at 3%.
Employment Type
Purely contractual. Initial period of 24 months or till completion of project, whichever is earlier. Extendable by 1 year at a time, maximum up to 5 years cumulatively, based on project requirements and performance. No claim for regular employment shall arise automatically.

Application Process
- Applications are to be submitted only through the Online Registration System of POWERGRID at www.powergrid.in.
- Candidates must have a valid personal Email ID and Mobile number which should remain active for at least one year.
- Upload documents: Photograph, Signature, Date of Birth proof, Qualification certificates & mark sheets, Experience certificates, Category certificates (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD/ExSM), No Objection Certificate (if applicable).
- Application fee to be paid online through Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking.
- Admit card for written test will be available for download on the website. No hard copy will be sent by post.
Eligibility Criteria
- Field Engineer (Electrical): Full-time B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.) in Electrical or equivalent with minimum 55% marks and one-year post-qualification experience.
- Field Engineer (Civil): Full-time B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.) in Civil with minimum 55% marks and one-year relevant experience.
- Field Supervisor (Electrical): Full-time Diploma in Electrical or equivalent with minimum 55% marks and one-year relevant experience. Higher qualifications (B.Tech/BE/ME/M.Tech) are not allowed.
- Field Supervisor (Civil): Full-time Diploma in Civil Engineering with minimum 55% marks and one-year relevant experience. Higher qualifications not allowed.
- Field Supervisor (Electronics & Communication): Full-time Diploma in Electronics & Communication/Telecommunication/Information Technology or equivalent with minimum 55% marks and one-year relevant experience. Higher qualifications not allowed.
Age Limit
Upper Age Limit: 29 years as on 17.09.2025.
- OBC (NCL): +3 years (for reserved posts)
- SC/ST: +5 years (for reserved posts)
- PwBD: +10 years (UR/EWS), +13 years (OBC), +15 years (SC/ST) for reserved posts

Reservation Details
Reservation is applicable for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) only. Identified sub-categories of PwBD suitable for different posts have been mentioned in the notification. Relaxations in marks and age limits are provided to SC/ST/PwBD/ExSM as per Government of India directives.

Selection Process
Written Test: Common FTE Written Test-2025 of 1-hour duration comprising 75 questions (50 Technical + 25 Aptitude). No negative marking. Language options: Hindi or English. Qualifying marks: 40% for UR/EWS and 30% for reserved categories.
- For Field Engineers: Candidates who qualify the written test and give consent for vacancies notified by the respective Region will be called for Interview. Final merit will be based on Interview only.
- For Field Supervisors: Merit list will be prepared based on performance in written test only.
Document verification and medical fitness are mandatory before engagement. Written test score is valid for one year.
Health Standards
