Pay Scale and Benefits

Technical Assistant: Level 7 (₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400), Minimum Basic Pay ₹44,900 per month.

Technician-B: Level 3 (₹21,700 – ₹69,100), Minimum Basic Pay ₹21,700 per month.

Additional allowances include Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance as applicable to the place of posting. Employees will be covered under the National Pension System (NPS) and will also be eligible for medical facilities for self and dependents, canteen services, Leave Travel Concession (LTC), and Group Insurance as per Central Government/PRL Rules.

Reservation Details

Reservation is applicable for SC, ST, OBC (NCL), EWS, and PwBD categories as per Government of India rules. The advertisement includes backlog vacancies from previous years. Detailed category-wise distribution is given below:

• Among Technician-B posts: 1 post reserved for PwBD-HH (Hearing Handicapped) and 1 for Ex-Serviceman.
• Among Technical Assistant posts: 1 post reserved for PwBD-LV (Low Vision).
• Reservation categories used: UR, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, EWS only.

Eligibility Criteria

• Technical Assistant: First Class Diploma in the respective discipline (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science / IT, or Electronics) from a recognized State Board.
• Technician-B: 10th Standard (Mat / SSC / SSLC) Pass plus ITI / NTC / NAC in the relevant trade from NCVT.
• Note: Open and Distance Learning (ODL) professional or technical qualifications are not accepted.
• Citizenship: Applicant must be an Indian citizen only.

Application Process

Applications must be submitted online only through the official portal of PRL. Hard copies or offline submissions are not accepted.

• After online submission, a registration number and filled application form will be sent to the registered email ID.
• Upload scanned documents of educational qualifications, category certificate (if any), disability certificate (if applicable), passport-size photo, and signature.
• Each applicant may apply for multiple posts but must submit separate applications and fees for each post.

Selection Process

1. Initial screening based on eligibility and qualification criteria as per advertised posts.
2. Written Test of 80 objective type questions (1.5 hours duration, +1 mark for correct answer and –0.33 for wrong answer).
3. Separate test sessions: Technical Assistant – Morning; Technician-B – Afternoon.
4. Written Test Centres: Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Abu Road and Udaipur (Rajasthan).
5. Qualified candidates from Written Test will be called for Skill Test and Document Verification.
6. No TA will be provided for Written Test; TA reimbursement is admissible for Skill Test as per rules (sleeper-class rail or ordinary bus fare on shortest route).
7. PwBD candidates will get compensatory time and may use scribe if required (per conditions laid out by the government).

General Instructions and Notes

• Meeting the minimum qualification does not guarantee selection or shortlisting for Written Test / Skill Test.
• PRL may fix a higher cut-off percentage at its discretion for shortlisting.
• Candidates employed in Government / PSU / Autonomous Bodies must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their current employer at the time of Skill Test.
• Any false information in the application will lead to disqualification and no TA will be paid.
• Selected candidates are liable to be posted at PRL Head Office (Ahmedabad), or its observatories at Udaipur and Mt. Abu, or any other location in India.
• PwBD candidates must arrange their own scribe; the scribe’s qualification must be one step lower than the minimum qualification of the post.
• Work involves 24×7 shift duties depending on operational requirements.
• Women candidates are encouraged to apply under PRL’s workforce gender balance policy.
• Candidates may opt for the Hindi language for Written Examination.
• All future notifications / corrigenda will be available only on the official website of PRL and ISRO; no separate communication will be sent.
• Canvassing in any form will result in disqualification.
