Note: As per departmental norms, only one coach/trainer is to be engaged per sport discipline.
Eligibility Criteria & Conditions
- Domicile Requirement: Only permanent residents/domicile holders of Uttarakhand state are eligible to apply for selection as contract trainers.
- Employment Status Disqualification: Individuals currently employed in government or non-government institutions / organizations are strictly not eligible for selection.
- Health & Fitness: Candidates must possess appropriate physical and mental health fitness suitable for conducting regular athletic and sports coaching sessions.
Age Limit (As on 01 August 2026)
Minimum Age Requirement 21 Years
Maximum Age Requirement 70 Years
Age will be evaluated strictly with respect to physical and mental health fitness on the cutoff date of 01 August 2026.
Remuneration & Honorarium Rules
Honorarium Policy: Honorarium/salary is payable as per the approved rules and norms of the Uttarakhand Sports Department.
Deduction Clause: If a trainer is absent or found absent during training camp sessions, deductions will be made from their honorarium for the period of absence.
Daily Training Camp Operational Timings
Training camps will operate every single day without exception, with the exception of recognized public/government holidays.
Winter Season (October to February)
- Morning Session: 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM
- Evening Session: 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM
Summer Season (March to September)
- Morning Session: 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM
- Evening Session: 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM
Terms and Conditions of Service
- Coaching must be conducted strictly as per the timings determined and specified by the department.
- If an instructor remains absent from the training camp or acts contrary to departmental guidelines, they will be relieved of coaching services without any entitlement to legal or financial claims.
- It is mandatory to execute sports training sessions and competitions directed by the District Sports Officer on schedule and cooperate in all departmental programs.
- Trainers must actively work toward maintaining the dignity and high standards of the Sports Department, Tehri Garhwal.
- The count of trainee athletes enrolled in the camp must strictly conform to departmental standards.
- Fees collected from trainees must be deposited with the office as per prescribed departmental regulations in a timely manner.
- The engagement for the year 2026–27 is valid from the month of September 2026 until 15 March 2027. No claim for regular appointment will be entertained under any circumstances.
- Only one trainer will be deployed per sport discipline. If a regular departmental coach is posted or joins duty prior to 15 March 2027, the contractual trainer's engagement will terminate automatically on the date the regular coach assumes charge.
- The training duration and number of positions can be modified or reduced based on budget availability or subsequent directives from the Directorate of Sports, Uttarakhand / District Administration Tehri Garhwal.
Application Process & How to Apply
- Obtain the prescribed application format from the official notification document.
- Fill out all relevant columns accurately, specifying the sport discipline, preferred training center, contact information, and personal details.
- Attach self-attested photocopies of all relevant testimonials including proof of date of birth, domicile certificate of Uttarakhand, educational qualifications, and sports certificates/credentials.
- Submit the completed application form to the District Sports Office, Narendra Nagar, Tehri Garhwal on or before 10 September 2026 by 5:00 PM.
- Appear in person with original documents before the committee on 14 September 2026 at 11:00 AM at the District Sports Office, Narendra Nagar for certificate verification.
