Application Process
Candidates must apply online through the official NHAI Recruitment Portal. Applications submitted through post, courier, or email will not be accepted under any circumstances.
- Register on the NHAI Recruitment portal with a valid email ID and mobile number.
- Create your user profile and complete personal, educational, and experience details accurately.
- Upload scanned copies of required documents, photograph, and signature in prescribed format (JPG/JPEG/PDF).
- Pay the processing fee through the online payment gateway, if applicable.
- After successful payment, download and print the final submitted application form for future reference.
No manual or postal submission will be accepted. The online registration will be considered complete only after successful payment of the applicable fee within the due date.
Eligibility Criteria
Deputy Manager (Finance & Accounts)
- Essential Qualification: MBA (Finance) from a recognized University or Institution through Regular Mode.
- Maximum Age: 30 years.
Library and Information Assistant
- Essential Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science from a recognized University or Institution.
- Maximum Age: 30 years.
Junior Translation Officer
- Essential Qualification: Master’s Degree in Hindi or English with English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject at Graduation level, OR equivalent combination of degrees in Hindi and English as main or optional subjects.
- Additionally, a Diploma/Certificate in Translation (Hindi to English and vice versa) or two years’ experience in translation work in any Government Office.
- Maximum Age: 30 years.
Accountant
- Essential Qualification: Graduation from a recognized University along with Intermediate pass in Chartered Accountancy (CA) or Cost and Management Accountancy (CMA).
- Maximum Age: 30 years.
Stenographer
- Essential Qualification: Graduation in any discipline.
- Typing & Shorthand: 80 words per minute shorthand (Hindi or English); typing speed 50 wpm in English or 65 wpm in Hindi on computer.
- Maximum Age: 28 years.
Age Limit and Relaxation

Reservation Details
Reservation for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes – Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) will be in accordance with the rules, notifications, and circulars issued by the Government of India from time to time.
- Candidates claiming any reservation benefit must produce valid certificates in the prescribed format issued by competent authority.
- OBC (NCL) candidates must have certificates issued for the current financial year 2025-26 (dated on or after 01-04-2025) showing they do not fall under the creamy layer.
- Candidates claiming EWS status must possess a valid Income and Asset Certificate for FY 2024-25 issued on or after 01-04-2025.
- PwBD candidates with at least 40 % relevant disability are eligible for reservation and relaxation benefits under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
- Reservation for PwBD covers blindness/low vision, deaf/hard-of-hearing, locomotor disability, cerebral palsy, dwarfism, acid attack victims, autism spectrum disorder, specific learning disability, mental illness, and multiple disabilities.
- Unreserved candidates selected on their own merit will not be adjusted against reserved vacancies.

Selection Process
Selection for various posts under NHAI will be carried out through a Computer-Based Test (CBT) followed by an Interview or Skill Test as applicable.
Deputy Manager (Finance & Accounts)
- Two-tier process: CBT + Interview (ratio 1:5 based on CBT marks).
- CBT Components:
- Part-I – General Aptitude (Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, English Comprehension, Reasoning)
- Part-II – Domain Knowledge in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Costing, Auditing, and Budget Management
- CBT – 120 marks, Interview – 15 marks; total 135 marks.
Library and Information Assistant
- Single-tier CBT of 120 marks (2 hours).
- Sections: General Aptitude, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English, and Domain Knowledge in Library Science, Information Technology, Cataloguing, Classification, Indexing, and Library Management.
Junior Translation Officer
- Single-tier CBT of 120 marks (2 hours).
- Subjects include General Knowledge, Mental Ability, Hindi & English Grammar and Literature, Translation Techniques, Comparative Literature, and Composition Skills.
Accountant
- Single-tier CBT of 120 marks (2 hours).
- Sections: General Aptitude, Quantitative Skills, English, and Domain Knowledge in Financial Accounting, Taxation, Auditing, Costing, MIS, and Budgetary Control.
Stenographer
- Two-tier process: CBT followed by Skill Test in Stenography.
- CBT – 120 marks (2 hours) with sections on General Awareness, Reasoning, and English Language.
- Skill Test: 5-minute dictation at 80 wpm; transcription time – 50 minutes (English) or 65 minutes (Hindi). PwBD candidates get extra compensatory time (70 min / 90 min respectively).
Note: 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. There is no re-evaluation or re-checking provision.
Minimum Qualifying Marks – UR 40 %, OBC/EWS 35 %, SC/ST/PwBD 30 %.
Service Bond
All selected candidates must execute a service bond at the time of joining NHAI:
- Group “A” (Deputy Manager): ₹ 5 lakh bond to serve a minimum of three (3) years from the date of joining.
- Group “B” & “C” Posts: ₹ 3 lakh bond to serve a minimum of three (3) years.
- If a candidate resigns or is terminated within the bond period, the bond amount must be paid to NHAI.
- Bond transfer from other organizations is not permitted.
