Complete Important Information for Applicants
Applications are invited from Indian Nationals for selection to the post of Senior Resident on a purely Adhoc basis at Maharishi Valmiki Hospital, Pooth Khurd, Delhi. The appointment is intended for a period of 89 days or until a fresh or regular incumbent joins, whichever is earlier.
Walk-in interviews will be conducted on every working Friday with effect from 14 August 2026 to 25 September 2026. Candidates should appear between 10:00 AM and 12:00 Noon at the Conference Hall, First Floor, Maharishi Valmiki Hospital, Pooth Khurd, Delhi.
Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria under the Residency Scheme may appear before the interview panel. Candidates must carry their original documents and certificates along with self-attested copies of all documents and submit their application with the self-attested copies at the time of the interview.
The required educational qualification is a Post Graduate Degree such as MD/MS/DNB/ Diploma equivalent in the concerned specialty. If MD/MS/DNB/Diploma candidates are not available, candidates having at least two years of experience in a Government Hospital or Government Institution in the concerned specialty may be considered. Such candidates will be appointed purely on an Adhoc basis for 89 days.
The maximum age is 45 years for General candidates, 50 years for SC/ST candidates and 48 years for OBC (Delhi) candidates, as on the date of interview.
The basic pay is Rs. 67,700/- in Revised Pay Matrix Level 11 of the 7th CPC, along with other allowances as admissible.
No separate interview letter will be issued and no TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.
If candidates belonging to a reserved category do not appear for the interview, the seat may be filled from other categories according to the reservation policy.
Candidates who have completed three years of Senior Residency but are willing to serve as Senior Resident may also apply. Such candidates will be offered residency only if fresh Senior Residents are not available. Their appointment will be for 89 days and may be extended up to a maximum period of one year only.
The services of Adhoc Senior Residents are likely to be terminated upon joining of regular Senior Residents through the Government of NCT of Delhi or upon a regular interview of Senior Residents, even if the 89-day tenure has not been completed. The recruitment notice was issued with the prior approval of the Competent Authority.

The number of vacancies may vary, and the Adhoc appointment may end before completion of 89 days under the conditions specified in the notification.
