Project Objective

The project aims to quantify slip rates and assess seismic hazards associated with active faults in the Uttarakhand Himalayas by integrating physics-based modeling with earth observation techniques.

The selected candidate will work on analyzing geodetic, remote sensing, geological, and seismological datasets. The research work will also involve computational modeling and scientific contributions toward understanding fault activity and earthquake hazards in the Himalayan region.

Educational Qualification

• M.Sc. in Geology.
• M.Sc. in Geophysics.
• M.Tech. in Geology-related disciplines.
• M.Tech. in Geophysics-related disciplines.
• M.Tech. in Civil Engineering.

Mandatory Qualification

• GATE qualified.
• UGC-NET qualified.
• CSIR-NET qualified.
• Any equivalent national eligibility examination.

Desirable Skills

• Background in Geophysics.
• Knowledge of Seismology.
• Knowledge of Geodesy.
• Knowledge of Remote Sensing.
• Experience in geological and seismological data analysis.
• Computational modeling experience.
• Programming skills.
