About IIT Mandi Catalyst

IIT Mandi Catalyst is the first Technology Business Incubator (TBI) in Himachal Pradesh. It is a Section 8 not-for-profit company established at IIT Mandi with support from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India.

The incubator has also received support from MeitY, BIRAC, DBT, Startup India, DPIIT, and the Department of Industries, Government of Himachal Pradesh under Startup Himachal initiative.

IIT Mandi Catalyst has supported more than 500 startups and focuses on deep-tech and engineering-driven startups in the Himalayan region and across India.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or technical background is mandatory.
• Master’s Degree / Ph.D. / MBA is preferred.

Experience Required

• Minimum 15 years of progressive industry or corporate experience.
• At least 5 years in senior leadership or managerial roles.
• Experience in startup incubation, innovation, venture building, entrepreneurship development, business strategy, investment management, or ecosystem development.
• Experience with academic institutions, government bodies, innovation ecosystems, or startup mentoring is desirable.
• Knowledge of venture funding, startup investments, equity structures, and startup exits will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic growth and operations of IIT Mandi Catalyst.
• Manage incubation programs, startup support, outreach, finance, HR, and compliance.
• Build partnerships with industry, academia, investors, and government bodies.
• Lead fundraising through grants, CSR, and investment programs.
• Ensure governance, transparency, and operational excellence.
