• Holding an analogous post.
• OR
• Holding the post of Superintending Engineer.

Educational Qualification - Option 1

• Master's Degree in an appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology or equivalent from a recognized University or Institute.
• Minimum 55% marks in the qualifying degree.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience.
• Out of the total experience, at least 3 years of regular clean service in Grade Pay of Rs. 8,700 at the level of Superintending Engineer (or higher), or equivalent.

Educational Qualification - Option 2

• Bachelor's Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology or equivalent from a recognized University or Institute.
• Minimum 55% marks in the qualifying degree.
• Minimum 18 years of relevant experience.
• Out of the total experience, at least 3 years of regular clean service in Grade Pay of Rs. 8,700 at the level of Superintending Engineer (or higher), or equivalent.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience in coordination and supervision of Civil, Electrical and HVAC construction and maintenance works in Public Works Department.
• Knowledge of Estate matters and Public Premises Act / Rules.
• Experience in handling construction and construction management software such as Computer-Aided Design (CAD).

How to Apply

1. Submit the application through Online Mode only.
2. Fill all required information carefully before final submission.
3. Applications once submitted cannot be modified or resubmitted.
4. Applicants are advised to use Mozilla Firefox while filling the application form.
5. Print the finally submitted online application.
6. Attach self-attested photocopies of all supporting documents mentioned in the online application.
7. Obtain Employer / Cadre Controlling Authority Certification in the prescribed Annexure-I format.
8. Forward the printed application through Proper Channel.
9. The envelope should clearly bear the superscription "Application for the post of Institute Engineer on Deputation basis".
10. Applications not forwarded through Proper Channel within the prescribed time may not be considered.

General Instructions

1. Applicants should carefully read the eligibility conditions before applying.
2. Applications will be screened solely on the basis of information submitted online.
3. If false information is found at any stage, candidature will be rejected.
4. Applications cannot be edited after final submission.
5. The post carries usual allowances admissible under IIT Delhi rules corresponding to Pay Matrix Level 14.
6. The terms and conditions of deputation shall be governed by Government of India and DoPT guidelines including amendments issued from time to time.
7. Incomplete applications shall be summarily rejected.
8. IIT Delhi reserves the right to fill or not fill the advertised post.
9. The Institute reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies or cancel the recruitment without assigning any reason.
10. The decision of the Director, IIT Delhi regarding any dispute or ambiguity shall be final.
11. The selected applicant will be liable to serve at any campus of IIT Delhi.
12. Applicants should provide a valid and active email address for all recruitment communications.
13. All communication regarding admit card or recruitment updates will be sent only through email.
14. Any legal dispute shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Delhi Courts only.
15. The appointment is purely on Deputation Basis and no request for absorption shall be entertained.
16. The list of shortlisted and non-shortlisted applicants along with reasons will be published on the IIT Delhi recruitment website.
17. Representations regarding shortlisting must reach IIT Delhi within five days of publication through email.
18. Eligibility, experience and age shall be reckoned as on August 07, 2026.
19. No correspondence regarding eligibility, application status, postal delay, interview or result will be entertained.

Important Notes for Parent Department

• Vigilance Clearance shall normally not be granted for three years after completion of punishment in case of minor penalty.
• For major penalty, Vigilance Clearance shall normally not be granted for five years after completion of punishment.
• Parent departments should follow DoPT instructions regarding cooling-off period while forwarding applications.
• Applications without supporting qualification and experience certificates will not be processed.
• There is no provision for absorption under this recruitment.
• Initial deputation period shall be two years.
• The deputation period may be extended up to a maximum of five years or till the age of superannuation in the parent department, whichever is earlier, with the approval of the Competent Authority.

Employer / Cadre Controlling Authority Certification Requirements

• Verification of educational qualifications and experience.
• No Objection Certificate for applying.
• Permanent/Regular service details.
• Present Pay Level and Basic Pay.
• Vigilance Clearance.
• Integrity Certificate.
• Details of penalties imposed during the last ten years, if any.
• Original CR Dossier or duly attested APAR/ACRs of the last five years.
• Equivalency Certificate for IDA/other pay scales to 7th CPC, wherever applicable.
