Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Library Science with minimum 55% marks from a recognized University/Institute.
• Preferred Qualification: LL.B. from a recognized University/Institute.
• Additional Requirement: Candidates without PG Diploma in Digital Library & Data Management or Library Automation & Networking must obtain it within two years of joining, failing which probation will not be confirmed.

Reservation Details

• Fee and age relaxation under SC/ST/BC categories applicable only for permanent residents of Punjab, Haryana, or U.T. Chandigarh.
• BC category candidates must provide a Non-Creamy Layer undertaking (Annexure-I).
• Ex-Servicemen benefit available only for ESM themselves, not dependents, with discharge book proof required.
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (≥40%) must attach a valid certificate issued by a competent authority.

Selection Process

1. Written Examination (150 Marks, 2 Hours)
   • Library & Information Science – 60 marks
   • General Knowledge – 30 marks
   • English Language – 20 marks
   • Hindi Language – 20 marks
   • Punjabi Language – 20 marks
   • No negative marking; minimum 50% required to qualify.
2. Computer Proficiency Test (Qualifying – 20 Marks)
   • Word Processing Test (10 Marks): Type 300 words in 10 minutes.
   • Spreadsheet Test (10 Marks): 10 minutes duration.
   • Must secure at least 40% in each part to qualify.
3. Viva-Voce (50 Marks)
   • Shortlisted up to five times the number of vacancies.
   • Minimum 40% marks required to qualify.
4. Final Merit: Based on total marks of Written Examination and Viva-Voce only (Computer test qualifying in nature).
