Organization Overview
Gujarat Vidyapith, a Deemed to be University established under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 (vide Notification No. F.10-20/62-U2, Government of India), was founded by Mahatma Gandhi in 1920 and has been a Deemed University since 1963. The institution is accredited with Grade “B++” by NAAC and is committed to imparting higher education aimed at preparing grass-root workers with strong character and competency. The university promotes values such as truth, non-violence, dignity of labour, respect for all religions, and social and economic equity with a focus on rural reconstruction. The medium of instruction is primarily Gujarati, though Hindi and English are allowed in exceptional cases.
