ECHS Shimla Recruitment 2026 – Dental Officer and Peon Contractual Vacancy
The Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), Ministry of Defence, Government of India has issued an employment notice for contractual recruitment at ECHS Polyclinic Shimla. Employment Duration
- For Ex-Servicemen candidates, the contractual appointment will be for a period of one year.
- For civil candidates, the appointment will be for a period of 11 months.
- The appointment will continue till attaining the maximum age limit subject to performance of the candidate and other conditions mentioned in the official notification.
Eligibility Criteria
Dental Officer
- Candidates must possess a BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) degree.
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience after completion of internship is required.
Peon
- Candidates must have completed at least Class 8 education.
- Alternatively, candidates from GD Trade (Armed Forces) may also apply.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience is required.
Age Limit
The specific age limit has not been mentioned in the official employment notice. However, candidates will be considered for appointment until they attain the maximum permissible age as per ECHS contractual employment rules and guidelines.

Selection Process
The selection of candidates will be conducted through an interview process organized at the Station Headquarters (ECHS Cell) Shimla.
- Candidates must report at Station Headquarters Shimla at 10:00 AM on the interview date.
- The interview will be conducted between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
- Only candidates meeting the required qualifications and eligibility criteria will be considered.
Documents Required at Interview
- Original certificates and mark sheets of 10th / Matric.
- 10+2 certificate.
- Graduation, Post Graduation, Degree or Diploma certificates (if applicable).
- Work experience certificates.
- Discharge Book for Ex-Servicemen candidates.
- PPO and service records.
- Medical certificate.
- Two passport size colour photographs.
No TA or DA will be provided to candidates for attending the interview.
On Job Training (OJT)
Selected candidates for the post of Dental Officer will be required to undergo mandatory On Job Training (OJT) at ECHS Polyclinic Shimla before signing the contractual agreement.
- A minimum of 10 days of On Job Training will be conducted.
- The training period will be used for handing and taking over responsibilities at the polyclinic.
- The OJT period will remain unpaid.
- Candidates must obtain a certificate from the Officer-in-Charge of the Polyclinic after completing the training.
- The training must be completed before signing the Memorandum of Agreement for the contractual appointment.
