Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must possess one of the following qualifications:

• Postgraduate degree in Science (First Division) with NET qualification
• Graduate degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) in First Division with valid GATE score
• Postgraduate degree in Engineering (M.E./M.Tech) in First Division at both Graduate and Postgraduate levels

Additional Condition: Only candidates who have been awarded their degree/provisional certificate are eligible to apply.

Age Limit

Tenure and Reservation Details

Tenure: Initially for 2 years, extendable up to a maximum of 5 years (including the initial period) based on satisfactory performance.

Reservation: As per Government of India policy, with applicable relaxations for SC/ST/OBC and other categories.

Application Process

1. Download the application form from the official DRDO website (www.drdo.gov.in).
2. Fill the application form carefully and email the scanned PDF to director.itm@gov.in.
3. On the date of the interview, bring:
   • Printed copy of the application form with a recent passport-size photograph affixed.
   • Self-attested copies of degrees, certificates, mark sheets, and experience certificates.
   • Original documents for verification.
   • Additional passport-size photographs.
4. Candidates currently employed in Government Departments/PSUs/Autonomous Bodies must bring a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer.

Selection Process

The selection will be based on a Walk-in Interview to be held at the Institute of Technology Management (ITM), Mussoorie. Candidates must report by 09:30 AM on the day of the interview at the Reception, Main Gate, ITM Mussoorie.

In case a large number of candidates appear for the interview, it may be carried over to the next day. Candidates are advised to plan accordingly.

Note: Selection as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) does not confer any right for absorption in DRDO.

• Electronic items such as smartphones, laptops, pen drives, CD-ROMs, or any type of electronic gadget are strictly not allowed inside the ITM campus.
• Incomplete applications will be rejected during the screening process.
• Candidates selected as JRF may be allowed to register for a Ph.D. during the tenure of fellowship.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview or joining the fellowship, if selected.
• Antecedents of selected candidates will be verified at the time of joining.
• Offer of Fellowship does not guarantee employment or absorption in DRDO.
