Pay Scale and Allowances

As per Pay Matrix Level-11 (7th CPC): ₹67,700 + allowances.

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualifications:
- Recognized MBBS qualification.
- Recognized PG Degree / Diploma (MD / DNB / DA / DMRD) in the concerned specialty.
- Registration with Delhi Medical Council.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Additional training or qualification in specialized clinical or research procedures pertaining to oncology.
- Research publications in the concerned specialty.
- Experience in organizing Preventive Oncology activities, Outdoor Camps, Public Awareness, or IEC Programs at a recognized institution.

Age Limit

Upper Age Limit: Not more than 45 years as on the date of interview.

Relaxation: Applicable as per GNCT of Delhi rules for SC/ST/OBC categories.

Reservation Details

Reservation applicable for SC/ST/OBC categories recognized by GNCT of Delhi only.
Candidates must produce valid original caste/category certificates during the interview.
Relaxation in age and experience may be granted as per government norms.

Documents to Carry:

Updated resume and recent passport-size photograph.
Original and photocopies of MBBS, PG, DMC registration, and experience certificates.
If more than five candidates per specialty appear, a written examination may be conducted.

Selection Process

Selection through Walk-in Interview based on qualifications, experience, and performance.
Written test may be conducted if number of candidates is high.
Verification of original certificates is mandatory before final selection.

Duties of Senior Residents

Appointment is purely on ad-hoc basis for 44 days, extendable by another 44 days based on performance.
Responsible for supervision of patient care and assistance of Junior Residents, especially during emergencies.
May be contacted by Junior Residents during emergencies and must coordinate with the concerned physician or surgeon.
No TA/DA shall be paid for attending or joining the post.
Liable to be posted at any DSCI setup within or outside Delhi.
Must not directly or indirectly communicate with media or higher authorities without prior Director’s approval.
Consumption of tobacco, alcohol, or any intoxicants within the institute premises is prohibited.
Required to provide Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, valid email ID, permanent address, and contact details upon joining.
Enrollment in Biometric Attendance System mandatory; salary released after attendance verification.
Appointment terminates automatically once a regular appointee joins.
Employees of other hospitals must produce relieving order before joining.
Appointment of SC/ST/OBC candidates subject to verification of caste certificate.

Terms and Conditions of Appointment

Tenure	Initial appointment is for 44 days and extendable by another 44 days with written approval. Maximum tenure as Senior Resident is 3 years including prior service in any Govt. institution.
Pay & Allowances	₹67,700 as per 7th CPC with applicable allowances.
House Rent Allowance	As per Government Rules.
Past Experience	Previous service as Senior Resident in Govt./Autonomous bodies will count toward the total tenure limit of 3 years.
Medical Examination	Fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner must be submitted within 7 days of joining.
Private Practice	Strictly prohibited. Any breach will result in termination and potential DMC disciplinary action.
Registration	Valid Delhi Medical Council registration required or proof of application before interview.
Discipline	Mandatory to wear a white coat with name badge during duty. Smoking during duty is strictly prohibited.
Categories	a) Appointment provisional until verification of caste certificate. b) False caste claims will lead to termination and legal action under IPC. c) Candidates changing religion must immediately notify the authorities.
