• Monthly Consolidated Pay (CTC): ₹27,014/- per month on Fixed Term Contract basis.

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: Matriculation / Class 12th Pass and ITI (NCVT/SCVT) in relevant trade from Government or Government Aided ITI of Tamil Nadu. Private ITI candidates are not eligible.
• Minimum Marks: 60% aggregate in ITI.
• Trade-wise Requirements:
  • Rolling Stock (RS): Electrician, Electronic Mechanic, Fitter, Refrigeration & AC Mechanic.
  • Electrical & Mechanical / Traction: Electrician.
  • Signal & PSD / Tele & AFC: Electronic Mechanic, Information Communication Technology System Maintenance, IT, Computer Hardware & Networking, Mechanic Industrial Electronics, Power Electronics System.
  • Civil & Track: Fitter, Plumber, Welder, Carpenter.

Age Limit and Reservation

• Age Limit (as on 01.10.2025): 18 – 33 years.
• Age Relaxation: As per Tamil Nadu Government Rules for reserved categories.
• Reservation: 30% horizontal reservation for women candidates. Other reservations as per Tamil Nadu Government norms.

Application Process and Required Documents

Selection Process

1. Document Verification.
2. Screening including Tamil Language Reading, Writing, and Speaking Proficiency Test (qualifying in nature). Candidates who studied Tamil in 10th Standard are exempted.
3. Merit-cum-Reservation-based shortlisting.
4. Pre-engagement Medical Examination as per DMRC standards (Candidates who have undergone LASIK surgery are not eligible).
5. Character and Antecedent Verification.

Service Conditions and Tenure

• Initial Tenure: 3 years (renewable based on satisfactory performance).
• Leave: 8 days Casual Leave and 18 days Earned Leave (1.5 EL for each completed month of service).
• Notice Period: 30 days (for resignation or termination).
• Training Cost: If the candidate leaves before 3 years, training cost will be recovered on a pro-rata basis.
• Panel Validity: The selection panel will remain valid for 2 years from the date of approval by the Competent Authority.
• Termination: DMRC may terminate the contract at any time with 30 days' notice. Candidate may also resign by giving 30 days' notice or remuneration in lieu thereof.
