Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Degree in Law
- Preferably with specialization in regulation
Qualifying Service (Officers under Central Government)
- Holding analogous post on regular basis; OR
- 3 years regular service in Level-12 (Rs. 78,800 – 2,09,200) of pay matrix or equivalent; OR
- 8 years regular service in Level-11 (Rs. 67,700 – 2,08,700) of pay matrix or equivalent
Nature of Experience Required
- Judicial / Quasi-Judicial legal matters
- Handling proceedings
- Drafting petitions and pleadings
- Listing and reference of case laws
Age Limit
Reservation Details
Other Backward Classes (OBC), Scheduled Castes (SC), and Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates will be given preference, provided all other eligibility conditions are fulfilled.

- Application must be routed through proper channel.
- Hard copy must reach the Deputy Chief (Admin) at the official address on or before 09 March 2026.

- Envelope must be superscribed with: “Application for the post of Joint Chief (Legal)”
Selection Process
- Applications will be shortlisted.
- Only shortlisted candidates shall be called for interaction.
- Mere fulfillment of eligibility criteria does not guarantee selection.
- CERC reserves the right to change the number of posts or keep the post unfilled.
Tenure
The normal period of deputation/short term contract as per Recruitment Rules is three years.

Apart from the above, allowances as applicable in the Government of India or CERC shall be paid as per entitlement. No other allowances or benefits will be paid to deputationists.
