Application Process

Candidates must apply through the online application form available on the official BPSC website. No hard copies of the application form or documents are required to be sent to the Commission’s office. Any hard copy submission will not be considered. The details provided in the online application will be accepted as correct for examination purposes, and document verification will take place after the written examination.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must possess a Post Graduate degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized university or institution in any of the following disciplines:

• Town Planning
• Regional Planning
• Urban Planning
• City Planning
• Country Planning
• Transport Planning
• Housing
• Environmental Planning

Age Limit (as on 01 August 2025)

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age for General (Male): 37 years
• Maximum Age for OBC/EBC (Male & Female) and General (Female): 40 years
• Maximum Age for SC/ST (Male & Female): 42 years

Age Relaxation

• Government servants: up to 5 years (maximum of 5 attempts allowed in BPSC exams)
• Persons with Disabilities: up to 10 years (with valid certificate)
• Ex-servicemen: 3 years + service duration (maximum age not exceeding 57 years)

Reservation Details

Horizontal Reservation: 35% seats for women across all categories, 2% seats for grandchildren of freedom fighters (recognized by the central government), and horizontal reservations for Persons with Disabilities (VI, DD, OH, MD categories).

Selection Process

The selection will be based on a written examination (Objective Multiple Choice Questions).

After the written examination, candidates will be called for document verification. Original certificates must be produced at this stage, failing which the candidate will not be included in the merit list.

• No re-evaluation or rechecking provision is available.
• If documents are found false or incorrect during verification, the application will be canceled.
• Candidates providing false information may be disqualified permanently from current and future BPSC examinations.
