- Ph.D. degree in one of the following subjects: Economics, Political Science, Religious Studies, Philosophy, Constitutional Studies, Education, Anthropology, Sociology, Social Work, Law, or Human Rights.

- Minimum research score of 120 as per UGC Regulations (Appendix II).
- At least 10 years of teaching experience in a University/College or equivalent research experience with evidence of guiding doctoral candidates.
Option B: Outstanding Professional Category
- Ph.D. degree in the relevant discipline from an academic institution or industry organization.
- Significant contribution to the field supported by documentary evidence.
- At least 10 years of professional experience in the relevant area.
