Vacancies
Total Vacancies: 30 (Thirty) vacancies are available for grant of Short Service Commission in Army Dental Corps for the year 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be an Indian citizen.
- Age Limit: Maximum permissible age is 45 years as on 31 December 2025.
- Qualification: BDS with minimum 55% aggregate marks or MDS from a DCI-recognized College/University.
- Completion of one-year compulsory rotatory internship by 30 June 2025.
- Registration: Must have a valid Permanent or Provisional Dental Council Registration up to 31 December 2025.
- Candidates must have appeared in NEET (MDS) 2025 conducted by NBE, New Delhi on 19 April 2025.

Application Process
- Applications must be submitted online only through join.afms.gov.in.
- Required scanned documents include: BDS/MDS certificates, NEET Admit Card & Scorecard, Internship Completion Certificate, State Dental Council Registration, valid photo ID, etc.
- Applicants must pay ₹200 (non-refundable) as Application Processing Fee online.
- Ensure all information matches NEET (MDS) registration details. No corrections permitted after submission.
Selection Process
- Shortlisting: Based on NEET (MDS) 2025 scores. Ratio 1:10 (ten candidates per vacancy).
- Interview: Conducted at New Delhi before a Selection Board. Final merit list is based solely on interview performance.
- Medical Examination: Conducted by Armed Forces Medical Board to assess fitness.
Medical & Physical Standards
- Medical Fitness: Candidates must be in good physical and mental health. Guidelines are available at joinindianarmy.nic.in.
- Height Standards: Male: Minimum 157 cm (152 cm for Hill/North East candidates). Female: Minimum 152 cm (147 cm for Hill/North East candidates).
- Tattoos: Permitted only as per Army tattoo policy.
- Pregnancy: If detected, candidate will be declared temporarily unfit.
Base Salary & Allowances
On commissioning, candidates will be granted the rank of Captain with the following pay and allowances:

| PG Allowance | ₹2250/month for MDS degree holders |
| Privileges | Medical facilities, Canteen, Rations, Accommodation, Subsidized loans, Insurance cover of ₹1 Crore |
| Leave | 60 days Annual + 20 days Casual Leave per year, LTC, Railway concessions |
TA/DA Entitlement
Candidates appearing for the interview for the first time are entitled to reimbursement of First Class/AC-III/AC Chair Car railway fare or equivalent government bus fare. Second or subsequent attempts are not eligible for TA/DA.
Reservation Details
There is no reservation for any category in Army Dental Corps SSC 2025. All candidates are considered under the same criteria.
Terms of Service
- Tenure: 5 years, extendable to a maximum of 14 years.
- Probation: 12 months from the date of commission.
- Promotion: Captain on entry, Major after 4.5 years, Lt. Col after 11.5 years. MDS holders eligible for antedate seniority.
- Training: Conducted at AMC Centre & College, Lucknow.
- Liability: Officers are liable to serve anywhere in India or abroad.
