Contract Period
The engagement will be initially for a period of three (3) years, which may be extended further up to two (2) additional years on a year-to-year basis, subject to satisfactory performance and mutual consent between the co-pilot and Airports Authority of India.
Remuneration & Salary Structure
- Monthly Remuneration: Negotiable monthly package starting from ₹2.50 Lakhs as per industry standards.
- The package includes an assured flying allowance of 50 flying hours per month.
- Any flying beyond 50 hours in a month will be paid as overtime flying allowance as per prevailing AAI guidelines.
- Applicable GST on remuneration will be borne by Airports Authority of India.
- Annual Increment: An annual increment of 5% may be granted on the negotiated monthly package.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics from a recognized Board or University.
Technical Qualification / License Requirements
- Current valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL) issued by DGCA, India, with a minimum of 500 flying hours on multi-engine aircraft.
- Minimum of 1000 total flying hours is mandatory.
- Current valid Flight Radio Telephony Operator License (FRTOL) issued by DGCA, India.
- Current Instrument Rating (IR) endorsement.
- Current RTR (A) or RTR (P) or RTR (C) license issued by WPC, Ministry of Communication, Government of India.
- Current Class-I Medical Fitness Certificate issued by DGCA, India.
- Valid English Language Proficiency (ELP).
- Valid Indian Passport. If not available, proof of application for passport must be attached.
Age Limit
- Maximum age limit for engagement as Co-Pilot: 60 years.
- Re-engagement possible up to 65 years, subject to currency of license and fulfillment of DGCA requirements.
- Age will be calculated as on 01 February 2026.
Reservation Details

Application Fees

Training, Bond & Stipend Details
- Initial currency training on aircraft type will be arranged by AAI.
- Selected co-pilots are required to execute a bond for three (3) years.
- Training expenditure will be recovered on a reducing basis at ₹1,00,000 per month.
- Non-rated pilots will undergo DGCA-approved training, arranged by AAI against bank security.
- Training and associated TA/DA expenses may be recovered at ₹1.5 Lakhs per month after attaining initial currency.
- Stipend during training: ₹50,000 per month until commencement of Supervisor Line Flying (SLF).
Insurance & License Renewal
- Aviation Personal Accident (PA) and Loss of License (LOL) insurance premium will be borne by AAI.
- Current insurance cover is ₹50 Lakhs.
- License, IR, PPC, and Medical renewals will be coordinated by the Operations Department of FIU.
- Failure to maintain license currency may result in pro-rata deduction of contracted remuneration.
Leave & Other Facilities
- Casual Leave: 12 days per calendar year.
- Sick Leave: 18 days per calendar year.
- Unused leave cannot be carried forward or encashed.
- No Gratuity, Provident Fund, or Medical Facilities are provided.
Termination of Contract
- Contract may be terminated by either party with six months’ notice.
- AAI may terminate the contract if the co-pilot remains absent for more than 15 days beyond entitled leave.
Selection Process
- Scrutiny of applications.
- Shortlisting of eligible candidates.
- Personal Interview.
Candidates working in Government, Semi-Government, or Public Sector Undertakings must produce a valid No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of interview.
